Catherine's Palace

The grounds in front of the palace are beautiful and well manicured. The grand entrance to the palace

The beautiful pilasters outside the tourist entrance. Although I tried to keep them out of most of my pictures, actually we toured the palace with 3000 of our closest friends.
This ornate clock is near the entrance stairs. The Grand Ballroom, one of the most beautiful rooms in the palace.

The dining rooms were heated by beautiful Dutch tile stoves. Gilt doorways extending down a long hall lead to many beautiful rooms.
Here are the Tsarinas! And here, of course, is the Tsar!
The palace was, sadly, totally destroyed by WW II bombing and has been lovingly restored. We walked through the beautiful palace grounds to get back to our van

to our Baltic Cruise.
