This study is a 10 week examination of 1 Peter with a focus on Going Through Times of Suffering as well as a look at the Practical Living teachings of Peter. Each week there are study questions for the Bible students to answer if they are inclined to do homework. All the study questions are based on the New International Version with different wording in the King James Version noted in the questions for clarity, since these are the two most popular translations. The first study is an overview of 1 Peter and then each week we go through about ½ a chapter.

By the end of the study we should have a real awareness that Christians inevitably must go through trials, and how we get through them will depend on our attitude. Peter emphasizes that suffering is part of the Christian experience, but his view is that we need to be happy and joyful through these difficult times. Realizing the persecution the early church had to endure makes us appreciate that Peter’s views are based on practical experience. He also gives us much needed advice for the every day problems we face.

My prayer is that you will gain invaluable insight as you spend time in 1 Peter studying God’s word.
