![]() Biography of Robert Crawford![]()
Robert, who began hunting at the age of ten years old with his dad in Arkansas, has now been hunting turkeys for 60 years. This was when you could hunt for five days straight and not hear a single turkey gobbler. If you killed one turkey a year it was a good year. Robert is now a "World Slam" holder (killed every type of turkey in the world) and has hunted turkeys in 37 US states and 3 foreign countries. His goal is to hunt in all 49 states that have turkeys. He is President of the California State Board of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and is also vice president of his local chapter. Robert is a Diamond Life Member of the NWTF. He is a trained and certified volunteer trapper for the California State Department of Fish & Game to assist in relocation of turkeys in California. Robert believes the future of turkey hunting depends on the continuing hard work of the NWTF. He believes that due to its size, weather, food, and terrain, California will become the top state for turkey hunting in a few years. California already has Merriam, Rio Grande, and Eastern Turkeys, and should have no problem supporting Goulds and maybe even Osceolas. Please contact Robert today with your questions on turkey hunting. ![]() |
