How To Change Dialup Phone Numbers
Pick your operating system:
 Windows 95/98/ME
Windows 2000
 Mac Remote Access
 Mac configPPP
 Mac Free PPP

Windows 95/98/ME

1. Begin by opening the "My Computer" icon and open the "Dial-up Networking" folder.
2. Identify the connection that is used to connect to Elite.net
3. Click the right mouse button and select "Properties" as shown below.
Alternately, you can click the connection once so it turns blue and select "File" and "Properties."

4. The new window will display the phone number and general preferences.  Type the new number that you wish to use in the correct line and click "OK."  A link to the list of Elite.net phone numbers is here. It is YOUR responsibility to verify that the number chosen is local. YOU will be responsible for ANY tolls incurred while dialing Elite.net.

Windows 2000

1. As Adminsitrator, go to the control panel and open the folder named "Network and Dialup Connections."  You should see this:
2. Find the connection that is used to dial in to Elite.net. Click the icon with right mouse button and select "properties" or click the icon once and go to the "File" menu and select "properties."

3. Make the change the phone number and select "Ok."

Mac Remote Access

1. Go to the apple menu in the upper left corner and go to the "control panels" submenu and select "Remote Access."
2. Click the triangle next to "setup." The window should look like this:
3. Change the phone number.

Mac ConfigPPP 1.  Goto the the apple menu in the upper left corner and go to the "control panels" subemenu  and select "Config PPP."  This window should appear:

2. Select "Config" to show:
3. Type in the new phone number that you wish to dial and select "Done."

Mac FreePPP

1. Go to the apple menu at the upper left hand corner and select the "Control Panels" submenu.  Select "FreePPP" from the "Control Panels."  HINT, if you have an extension loaded that looks like a phone, you can click it too.  You should see:

3. Make your changes to the phone number and select "OK."
