System Status System StatusOne of our two internet connections is down causing high traffic utilization on the remaining link. Performance will be less than optimal as a result. The provider has acknowledged the problem, which began at approximately 6:00PM our time. A time of restoral is not yet known.
3AM to 8:30AM Sunday mornings is reserved to do work that may require shutting down equipment or disconnecting wire. During this time, you should use the system with the following understandings:
- Any or all servers may be rebooted without notice.
- The system may be totally unavailable during that time.
- You may be disconnected at any time and may or may not be able to get back on.
- Web pages may not come up, email may be unavailable, newsgroups may be unavailable.
With these understandings, you should not do any editing of files on the system. You may be able to surf the net as long as one of our servers is online.
There are 4 levels of work that may be followed.
- We sleep in like most of you.
- 5:30am - 6am. reboot / rewire
- 5:30am - 8:30am. reboots, backups, modem and phone line work
- 3:00am - 8:30am. system may be totally down for major work or backups
