What is ADSL service?
ADSL stands for
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. The "Asymmetric" term applies
to the fact that the upload and download speeds are not the same.
ADSL, unlike IDSL and SDSL, does not refer to the type of signalling
being used. There are several different ADSL signalling types.
Therefore, it is important to use ADSL modems that are compatible
with our ADSL service.
What are the features of
ADSL?
ADSL is easy to
install. In fact, it even has a "Self Install" kit option.
Professional installation is not normally required to hook up ADSL
service.
ADSL shares one of your existing telephone lines. There is no
need to run new wires in your home or business.
ADSL and your telephone can be used at the same time. They share
the line in such a way that you can be online and on the phone at the
same time.
ADSL can replace your second line for your computer. Why pay for
two lines when you only need one with ADSL?
ADSL is ideal for basic internet users and telecommuters. Its
great for businesses that primarily need download speed.

No, this is not
allowed with our Central Valley ADSL service.
How many computers can I
hook up?
Our service supports
exactly one device connected to your ADSL modem. That device can
be a computer or any other device that supports IP networking.
What if I need more than
one device?
There are two
options:
1. Purchase a broadband router to share the connection between the
computers. These are widely available for $50.00 or less.
2. Purchase a hub to connect all the computers and devices to the
modem. Elite.net can provide you an additional private or public
