What is DSL service?

DSL is high speed internet access using a telephone line.  DSL is typically many times faster than dialup service.  Whereas the fastest possible dialup speed is 53 kilobits per second, DSL speeds start at 144 kilobits per second and go up from there.  In real terms, DSL offers faster downloads, faster uploads, and a better internet experience overall.
